Our Common Quest: An Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) Intensive Workshop

Asset-Based Community Development You believe in Asset-Based Community Development. Not only does it make sense to you, it touches your heart. You and others in your community have begun the work, perhaps mapping the assets of individuals or creating associational inventories. It's almost like you've been on a quest to discover all those community assets. You'd love to talk to others about your experience, share common successes and challenges, decide where to go from here, and how to take the work further. Center for Collaborative Planning, home of the California ABCD Institute, is offering a way to do just that.

This ABCD Intensive Workshop utilizes the QUILT approach--Quests Unfolding In Learning and Teaching. CCP has created the QUILT process from the threads of popular education, storytelling, ritual and ceremony, and cultural learning through artistic expression. CCP has used these approaches successfully with organizations and community leaders over the last six years.

Agenda Highlights:

  • Sharing ABCD Experience: Storytelling
  • Finding What We Know: Common ABCD Threads
  • Crafting Solutions: Creating the Square
  • Designing Plans for Action: Square to Square to Square
  • Reflecting on Our Common Quest: Enhancing ABCD work
