Telling Your Community's Story

Workshops We all have stories about our communities, stories of our own experiences as community members and the stories of our neighbors. In many communities, the same stories are retold over and over because they help us define our identities - both as individuals and as members of our communities. Stories help us to learn about our world.

Both beginning and experienced writers will draw from their own experiences and approach their community’s story as an important for community building and as a way to embrace adversity, rally the forces, celebrate diversity, capture challenges and lessons learned, and so on.

Through the practice of writing together, we will delight in discovery, indulge in making art, get and give feedback, and capture our community’s story.

Agenda Highlights:

  • The Power of Stories
  • What Makes a Good Story
  • Capturing your Story
  • Polishing your Story
  • Telling Your Community’s Story
  • Stories in Motion
  • Taking your Stories Home
  • Writing Together
